Graph-iSCAN and 3D documentation of Charlevoix train
Graph-iSCAN 3D laser scanning technologies and methods have made possible the documentation of a wagon train for its rehabilitation. The wagons, which used for the road from Charlevoix to Quebec, are now the subject of a complete rehabilitation. At that time of the scan, managers of the "Touring Train of Charlevoix" had no wagon plans and they trusted our team to achieve them. A precise 3D model was also developed using data collected by laser scanning. Please read this short_article_(written_in_French)

Montreal, September 15th, 2009 – Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay unveils at a press conference, Montreal's Nature Museums 2009 – 2017 life plan, a project worth $189 million, in which the virtual plan of 3D images were produced by Graph Synergy.
The sketches of the future life plan of Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and the award-winning international concept are presented. Due to its expertise and strong experience in architecture and 3D simulation, Graph Synergie was able to quickly produce the visual perspectives of the Director's plan.
Four different perspective views were produced: aerial, day, night and winter. These perspectives were produced within the 3D database Graph-iVIEW of Montreal 2025 to assist in the decision-making processes of the different stakeholders in regards to the development of the future site. These perspectives will also enable stakeholders to better communicate its plan and vision to the general public.
Graph Synergie uses virtual reality scenes and 3D simulations to highlight our cultural heritage in several projects such as, the Museum of Civilization, the Museum of Fine Arts in Quebec city, the fountain from “Quartier des spectacles de Montréal” (largest interactive fountain in Canada), the Historical Society of Sherbrooke and a historical village in Alberta.
Graph Synergie, because a picture is worth a thousand words!
Graph Synergie is creating a revolution in the field of animated fountains design. Indeed, thanks to the company expertise in leading-edge 3D software expertise, Montréal’s Daoust-Lestage architecture and urban landscape design firm was able to design an animated fountain show featuring a water fountain and integrated lighting fixtures with a surprising ease.
With about 230 water jets and integrated LED fixtures to coordinate, the Graph-iMOTION platform allowed visualization and real-time management of water effects and light coordination. Moreover, Graph’s technology streamlined the data by exporting the shows created to the platform managing the pumps and light switches. "What used to take several months is now done in a few days, and shows can be updated remotely thanks to client-server protocols for the fountain controls", states Francis Lessard, Graph Synergie’s CEO.
The idea of carrying out water and light shows on the scale of Bellagio in Las Vegas is now far easier, thanks to this 3D platform that revolutionizes how fountain projects are developed.
This major project was carried out in close cooperation with MatissControl - Quebec (robotics and pumps) and Piscines Soucy (specialized contractor) from Quebec City. This innovation is opening new business opportunities for Graph Synergie.
Graph-iSCAN, a new service of 3D laser scanning in Graph Synergie.
The 3D laser surveying
It is now profitable to produce an accurate and detailed 3D surveying to ensure optimum quality of your development projects. Graph-iSCAN service is now available for architects, engineers, planners, heritage specialists and other professionals in national planning.
The 3D laser surveyings can quickly capture millions of points in given environments in order to retrieve localization maps, buildings elevations and high-quality 3D models. This new documentation standard also allows to track structures in time or to analyze the deformation of these structures, that is a long-term appreciation.
Economies of scale
According to Spar Point Research (Capturing Existing Conditions with Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Spar Point Research, 2006), it is recognized that savings of 5% can be performed on an entire project when the existing environmental conditions are well documented. These savings are relating to lower risks associated with a project (e.g. entry error, working at height, traffic density, etc.). These risks have an impact on estimates, on wrong financial evaluations, bringing problems of design and of manufacturing, with costly corrections in the field, deadlines, penalties, and loss of ability, or even less long-terms profits and opportunities for your service.
The 3D surveying allows us to improve the entered information quality, business competitiveness and quality of development projects, which are made in determined schedules and budgets.
Benefit now from our team expertise for your own needs of projects documentation and representation. Our professionals combine many years of experience in laser surveying and Graph Team is THE reference in Quebec for the virtual representation of the territory.

The City of Magog won his bet on last Sunday during the referendum for the support of citizens around the transformation of Ste-Marguerite-Marie Church into a public library. In order to explain the project to citizens, the city had asked Graph Synergie to achieve a 3D animation of the church turned into a library. "A picture would be better than a thousand words", argued Marc Poulin, mayor of Magog, during the presentation of the animation to his citizens. With this support, the fitting out of the new library should begin in August 2009.
Watch the animation achieved.
A second church ...
Graph Synergie had already been involved in the redevelopment of another church, this time transformed into a residential project. In addition to 3D animation, Graph Synergie worked with the promoters of this project in Lévis for the realization of several elements of communication-marketing : marketing images, sales plans and website.
